Nate for President

Short flashes in to the life of Nate - a completly unassuming young person starting his post-undergrad life in Dallas, TX.
Any questions?
Send me something

I’m still alive.

I once had a girl ask me, “How do you live your life?”. At the time I chuckled and wrote it off as just another XX home-body not understanding an XY who needs to keep moving, meeting new people, and hurting his body by gorging on late night whataburger and laughable acquaintances at out of town bars. But lately it’s hit home a little more. Between the late nights at work, and the even later nights out in Dallas- I’ve oft asked myself the same question. How is it that I’m living this life? I’m so blessed with limitless opportunities in my career, my location, the support from my family and friends, and maybe even my finances (but just maybe) that I can live a relatively care free life.

Of course, I’m not saying I’m content. Far from it. Lately the desire to explore, to experience, and to create, as consumed me.

Here are my next steps:

  • Start creative writing again
  • Update this blog to have some sort of theme instead of a depository for narcism
  • Relearn the guitar
  • Train for a marathon
  • Read the Bible every day

And here’s what you missed

  • I went to Chicago
  • I moved apartments again
  • I saw Pavement, my favorite band, in concert
  • I’ve been throwing myself into my work and have started to become rewarded with challenging problems, enjoyable relationships, and what I’m most thankful for- opportunities to show what being a Christian in the workplace means

I’m going to write a post re: Chicago later this week…
